LEAN TOOLS FOR PROJECT TEAM (3 DAYS)
Overview
Whereas Six Sigma tools may be useful in understanding variation, lean tools will come in handy for Black Belts looking into cycle time, inventory management and waste reduction challenges. Pivotal's Lean tools workshop is perfect for these high-value opportunities.
The Lean tools workshop follows a four-phase model – Define, Investigate, Streamline and Control (DISC) – that provides a solid application of Lean tools in each phases.
A critical emphasis is placed on application of tools in developing and implementing solutions that add net value or efficiency to the process without negatively affecting other parts of the flow. Monitoring and sustaining new “lean” results through measures and other Control methods is also an important component of the learning.
Objective
- Build a solid understanding of Lean principles and process improvement criteria
- Recognize when and where to apply Lean methods to achieve business change goals, and how to integrate Lean with other important change strategies (DMAIC, process design/redesign, “FastTrack” opportunities, etc.)
- Apply Lean tools to a meaningful business opportunity
